Qinghua Fang inhibits high-fat diet-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by modulating gut microbiota

چکیده
Background: Disturbance of the gut microbiota may play a critical role in progression nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) induced by high-fat diet (HFD). Changes were analyzed rat HFD-induced NAFLD model following treatment with Qinghua Fang (QHF), Chinese herbal formula currently used clinical practice traditional medicine.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, diet and gut microbiota
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a severe liver disease that is increasing in prevalence with the worldwide epidemic of obesity and its related insulin-resistance state. Evidence for the role of the gut microbiota in energy storage and the subsequent development of obesity and some of its related diseases is now well established. More recently, a new role of gut microbiota has emerg...

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a severe liver disease that is increasing in prevalence with the worldwide epidemic of obesity and its related insulin-resistance state. A 'two-hit' mechanism has been proposed; however, the complete physiopathogenesis remains incompletely understood. Evidence for the role of the gut microbiota in energy storage and the subsequent development of obes...
متن کاملNeutralization of interleukin-17 attenuates high fat diet-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in mice.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is hepatic manifestation of a metabolic syndrome and includes a spectrum of hepatic steatosis, steatohepatitis, and fibrosis. Interleukin-17 (IL-17) has been reported to play a critical role in inflammatory progression of some liver diseases. The present study was designed to investigate the role of IL-17 on high fat diet-induced NAFLD in C57BL/6 mice. ...
متن کاملNon-alcoholic fatty liver and the gut microbiota
BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) is a common, multi-factorial, and poorly understood liver disease whose incidence is globally rising. NAFLD is generally asymptomatic and associated with other manifestations of the metabolic syndrome. Yet, up to 25% of NAFLD patients develop a progressive inflammatory liver disease termed non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) that may progress toward...
متن کاملDietary capsaicin and antibiotics act synergistically to reduce non-alcoholic fatty liver disease induced by high fat diet in mice
The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is increasing rapidly worldwide. However, effective strategies for combating high-fat diet (HFD) induced obesity, fatty liver and metabolic disorder are still limited, and outcomes remain poor. In the present study, we evaluated the combined actions of dietary capsaicin and antibiotics on HFD-induced physiological abnormalities in mice. C57BL/...
